The U.S. Women's Hockey Team got off to a good start at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Cortina, Italy with a 5-1 victory over Czechia on Thursday.
Hayley Scamurra (Northeastern) scored two goals for the Americans, while Tessa Janecke (Penn State) notched two assists and Aerin Frankel (Northeastern) made 14 saves.
Team USA takes on Finland tomorrow in its next contest.
ADDENDUM: The United States blanked Finland, 5-0, with team captain Hillary Knight scoring her record 14th career Olympic goal.
