Derick Brassard scored three goals and set up two others,
and J.T. Miller and Rick Nash posted a goal and three assists apiece as the New York Rangers stayed
alive with a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night at Amalie
Arena in Florida.
The best-of-seven NHL Eastern Conference Final is now tied at three games
apiece.
Dan Boyle (Miami), Dominic
Moore (Harvard), and Tanner Glass (Dartmouth) all earned assists
for the Rangers, who broke open a 2-1 game with five third-period scores. Moore
and Glass both assisted on what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
Ben Bishop (Maine) made 21
saves on 26 shots, and also picked up an assist on Tampa Bay’s
first goal, before being pulled with just over 10 minutes remaining in
regulation. The Lightning outshot the Rangers, 39-33, but lost the faceoff (35-31),
hits (27-12) and blocked shot (17-12) battles.
The deciding Game 7 will be played Friday night at Madison Square
Garden, with the winner advancing to the
2015 Stanley Cup Final against either Chicago or
