DU's Tabrum Signs with Wheeling (ECHL)

Former Denver University forward Matt Tabrum has signed to skate with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers next season, according to ECHL.com.

An undrafted free agent out of Colorado Springs, the 5-10, 185-pound Tabrum tallied 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points to go with 125 penalty minutes in 151 career games with the Pioneers, as listed on his profile at USCHO.com. His highest-scoring NCAA season came as a sophomore in 2012-13 when he tallied 7-815 points in 39 outings.

Tabrum, 24, who prepped with both Sioux Falls (USHL) and Omaha (USHL) prior to joining the Pioneers, helped DU to four consecutive NCAA Tournament berths in his four seasons in Denver. He closed his collegiate career in March with a goal against North Dakota in DU's 5-1 victory in the NCHC Tournament title game in Minneapolis, and then posted two assists in a 5-2 win over Boston College in an NCAA East Regional semifinal in Providence.
