U.S. Wins 2025 U-18 Bronze Medal

Arizona State commit Ben Kevan scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the United States to a 4-3 victory over Slovakia in the 2025 IIHF U-18 Men's World Championship bronze medal game yesterday in Frisco, Texas. 

Will Moore, a Boston College commit who led all U.S. skaters in the tournament with three goals and eight assists for 11 points, posted three assists against Slovakia. Notre Dame commit Patrick Quinlan made 23 saves in goal in the victory, and finished with a 4-1 record in the tournament.

Canada won U-18 gold for the second straight season, blanking Sweden by a 7-0 count in the title contest.

Princeton Falls in First Round Playoff

Princeton's 2023-24 men's hockey season came to a close tonight with a 1-0 loss at Harvard in the first round of the ECAC Hockey championship. Ian Moore's first-period goal stood up as the game-winner for the Crimson (7-17-6 overall), who got 38 saves in net from Aku Koskenvuo. 

Arthur Smith made 16 saves for the Tigers (10-16-4), who outshot Harvard, 38-17, but were shut out for the first time this season. It was the final career collegiate game for Princeton's senior class, including Mike Kennedy, Nick Carabin, Mackenzie Merriman, team captain Ian Murphy, Nick Seitz, Adam Robbins, and Joe Berg.

Harvard advances to next week's ECAC Hockey quarterfinals, as does St. Lawrence, which defeated visiting Yale by a 4-2 count behind 37 saves from goaltender Ben Kraws. The winner of the ECAC Hockey championship will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.

Moore, Boyle Send Rangers to Stanley Cup Final

Dominic Moore (Harvard) scored the only goal of the game, and the New York Rangers will now return to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since winning it all in 1994.

Brian Boyle (Boston College) fed Moore from behind the net at 18:07 of the second period on Thursday Night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final, and the Rangers held on to beat the Montreal Canadians, 1-0, at Madison Square Garden. New York won the series, four games to two, after previously winning a pair of seven-game series against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in the first two rounds.

The Rangers will be on the road next week at either Chicago or Los Angeles, with the Blackhawks and Kings playing their own Game 6 tonight in California. Los Angeles leads that series, three games to two. Montreal had been seeking its first return to the final since winning the Cup in 1993, the last time the NHL crown was claimed by a Canadian club.
