Charlie Coyle (Boston University) tallied a goal and an assist, and Ben Smith (Boston College) scored off a setup from Jimmy Vesey (Harvard) as the United States defeated Switzerland, 3-1, in a quarterfinal contest at the 2015 IIHF World Championship in the Czech Republic.

Jake Gardiner (Wisconsin) scored the third American goal off an assist from Coyle to close out the scoring, as the U.S. battled back from a 1-0 deficit. Connor Hellebuyck (UMass Lowell) made 21 saves for the fourth consecutive contest as the Americans won for the seventh time in eight games in the tournament.
