Fresh off its 2012 NCAA Division III Championship, the Rochester Institute of Technology's women's team is moving up to the Division I ranks for next season.
The Tigers, who bested defending Division III national champion Norwich by a 4-1 count on Saturday at Frank Ritter Memorial Arena, finished the season with a 28-1-1 overall mark. They join their RIT male counterparts, who made the jump to Division I in 2004, and six years later advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four in Detroit.
